Course Summary:

The process of writing and applying for grants could be a very daunting task for non-profit organisations. Very few understand the technicalities of the grant writing process, hence they are not successful in this regard. Yet with a carefully crafted grant proposal, you could be on your way to getting the funds you need in financing your projects. This course is designed to give you practical and appropriate tools to raise funds for your projects and organisation. In this 3-day practical workshop, you would learn proven strategies of developing a winning grant proposal that would attract funding from both local and international funders.

Outline:

  • Identify the basics and key elements of successful grant writing
  • Prepare grant proposals using the Logical Framework Approach
  • Develop a funding strategy for your organisation
  • Write grant proposals that funders would likely approve
  • Understanding the Logical Framework Approach to grant writing
  • Practical grant writing exercises

Course Objectives

At the end of the course participants should:

  • Have a solid knowledge and understanding of what a grant is
  • Know how to write an effective grant proposal
  • Know how to fine tune a proposal idea
  • How to research grants
  • Know how to read and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from funders
  • How to begin the actual writing process.
