The beneficiary of the KEC Annual Scholarship Award For 2017

In a small ceremony held at Primal Hotel, Ikoyi on Tuesday, 25th of July, 2017, Mr. Obasi O. Obiora became the second person to receive the prestigious KEC Annual Scholarship Award for 2017. Out of scores of applications from across Nigeria and English-speaking West Africa. Mr. Obiora emerged tops.

The award provides full scholarship for the Executive Master in Development Policies and Practices (DPP Programme) with the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Genevia, University of Switzerland.

He was one of the two finalists who were selected by Dr. Matteo and the DDP Programme team at the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva and presented to The Knowledge Exchange Centre to select a beneficiary of our Scholarship Award for 2017. The one of the main conditions for selection is that the beneficiary's thesis proposal must be relevant to KEC’s vision which focuses on contemporary African developmental agenda, employment generation and poverty reduction in youths.

The goal of awarding this scholarship is to strengthen the development sector for the implementation of sound and sustainable policies on employability, employment generation and poverty reduction in Nigeria. This can be achieved by strengthening the capacities of professionals in the public and development sectors.

Mr. Obiora has over 16 years' experience is the development sector and has the capacity to undergo the very intense DPP programme. He will work with KEC to create the desired impact that the organisation aims to achieve through the award of this scholarship.
