Lagos, July 21, 2016 /Knowledge Exchange Centre/-- The Centre for Entrepreneurship Knowledge Exchange aka Knowledge Exchange Centre (KEC) held its first annual scholarship award last Tuesday, the 12th of July, 2016 at its premises, No. 3 Fatai Kaffo Street, Agungi, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.
The event was graced by the Chairman Board of Trustees of KEC, Mr. Charles Nwodo Jnr., members of staff of XL Africa Group Limited, students, friends and well-wishers of the Organisation.
The Chairman in his keynote speech addressed the issue of the unemployability of Nigerian graduates which he noted “as a growing problem and a threat to the achievement of inclusive national economic development.” He expressed that his company, the XL Africa Group had experienced the challenges of graduate unemployability and appreciates the benefits to society in tackling this problem in a structured and coordinated effort. Hence KEC, through this award, is fulfilling one of the items in its corporate agenda which is to support young, enterprising but disadvantaged Nigerians to acquire skills and knowledge that improves their employability.
The award which is in its first year, provides a full scholarship for the beneficiary to study for the Executive Master in Development Policies and Practices (DPP) at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, University of Geneva, Switzerland for the 2016/17 academic year.
Ms. Benedicta Ebiere Ayerite who is the recipient of the 2016 KEC Annual Scholarship Award was one of the four finalists selected from over 400 applications across the English-speaking West African Countries. The Award was presented to her by Mr. Charles Nwodo Jnr, Chairman Board of Trustees of the Knowledge Exchange Centre.
